Gecko Naming Party

Again long time no see, so today i am talking about this little leopard gecko
down here. Incase you were wondering I got him for christmas by Wendy's brother in law, Keith.   He gave it to me as the Christmas presensent i really, really wanted.

Right now his name is Rango.  If you can come over to our house you can join us for a gecko naming party.  Not sure if he will stay as a Rango, so if you have any better ideas please let me know.

Dad & Wendy said that i wouldnt get a lepard gegco but when i came back from New York...  Julia said that there was a 'Letter'  Gecko upstairs.    Wendy & dad acted like they had no idea what Julia was talking  about.  but when i went upstairs i saw his tank and i was really happy!   Then Dad said when we get one he will live under this rock and dad picked it up and he was right there under it.

He is walking back to his house.  his water dish is infront and there is a bit of drift wood on the back for him to walk over.
This is Julia & I having fun with my great new camera i got for Christmas.  The tank was on the right in their bathroom, but now it's in my bedroom - yeah!
This is the tank up close before we changed it.
This is the tank layout after we changed it.
There's something on his house and he's trying to see what it is.

Thursday: Happy Thanksgiving. Beach + Mini Golf + Pool

Thursday morning was Thanksgiving.  In the morning we went to the beach and I built a sand turtle, a sand starfish and a jelly fish all before dada came back with my skim board.  While he was gone I also made a sand sun.   we are sitting here writing this looking at the beach and just saw a real turtle in the sea.
First I played with my skim board, I only did it once out of 20 tried – it was really hard.  Then I went on my boogie board and I did it for about 20 minutes catching lots of waves. Once the wave caught me instead and fell on me and it was really fun!

Playing hangman in the sand

After the beach we all went to play mini golf. It was really really fun.  The first hole was pretty easy but my favorite hole was the tenth hole because I got a hole in one and that was the only hole in one that I got.  I hated he 18th because it took me about a million tried to do that one!  But overall it was really fun.
After that we got back in the car and drove to a really cool pool.  One the way we stopped and saw a whale – in November!  Its very very cool because whales are here from December to may only before they swim back to Alaska.

At the pool I played with Julia in the hottub for a little bit, then I went on the water slide .   then the water slide closed, so I went in the pool for a little bit, then I got cold so went back in the hottub, then back in the pool for a little bit.  Then we all stopped for some Hula Pie.  It was HUGE but took about two minutes as everyone was digging at it and then we came back home and Julia and tyler slept the whole ride.    Once she was so fast asleep I could even move her arms and I made her look like a mummy.

Tuesday: Beach and Sailboat Racing

On Tuesday morning we went to the beach and I saw someone working on a sand sculpture.   The man that was making the sand sculpture made a lot of other ones too.  We all thought they were cool too.  He was trying to make a 30 foot turtle!  He taught me how to make little turtles out of sand and I do that every day now.

Then in the afternoon I went on an Americas cup racing sailboat.   It wasn’t windy at all when we started but then a mile further there was wind so crazy we were going so fast and it was about 2 inches away from capsizing.   The waves were SUPER tall and the wind was blowing VERY fast so the two people in the front of the boat, they looked like they jumped in the water and came right out.   We weren’t going to capsize because the keel was 22 tons but it was leaning so much that one side of the boat was in the water.

Wednesday: Surfing & Submarine Boat

We went to the beach and dad & I rented surfboards and we went surfing.  At first it was hard for me to get my balance in again because I haven’t been balancing on anything for a very long time.   Then I caught my balance again and it was super fun.   Once you paddle and get on a wave, you have to wait until you go so fast on the wave then you start standing up on the board.  Then you just keep your balance and ride the wave.  At the end you get off your board, turn it around and paddle back with your board until you are where you were and wait for the next wave.   If you fall off you do the same thing.   The big waves were fast and the small waves were slow and barely anyone was on them.

In the afternoon we went on a glass bottom boat ride to see coral, fish and other things.  When you get in the boat you go down to the glass bottom bit and someone explains when you might see.   Before you get to the reef, you see a lot of fish already.  Once you get to the reef you see more fish. Coral obviously and if you’re lucky enough you may see turtles too.  I saw about 4 or 5.  The divers came and picked up a lot of things to show us and the person that was down there explain what they are and what they do and what you do if you see one.

Monday: Baby Beach and Golf

We went to Baby Beach and Dad and I snorkeled there but I only did it for 2 seconds because the water stung my face and my foot.  So I boogie boarded instead while Dad snorkeled.   I also helped build a sand castle for Julia and Tyler.  And then Dad made a deep hole and there is a big channel at the top of it so that the waves would come down the channel into the pit.  After that, Dad and I ran to the other side to see what was there.  And then when we turned around to come back, we saw Julia running right at us.  We ran back and we got my boogie board and Julia was on it while Dad was pulling it on the water.  And then we ran back and Julia got her boogie board and I was paddling on mine and Julia was paddling on hers.

Now about golf!  Dad and I went to one of the best golf courses in the world.  It was called Makena Golf Course, a PGA champion golf course.  And Dad and I hit some golf balls there and we also drove a golf cart.  It was the first time that I drove a cart.  It was very very fun!  And we also got these bag tags that look kinda gold.  The course was green and awesome.  There little mini ponds and canyons and obviously bunkers.  Back to the tags…it said Makena Golf Course and a lot of other things.  On the front it said my name on it.  It was my first time playing on a real golf course and it was awesome!

Sunday: An Epic Day!

On Sunday, our friends, Andrew and Leslie invited us to the fanciest and biggest pool in Maui!  It was at the Grand Wailea.  There was the only water elevator in the world there!  There were 2 water slides that had a lazy river.  So, what happens is that there is one water slide that starts at one pool, you go down that slide to another pool and then you climb up some stairs (where the water elevator ends) and then you go down that slide.  There is a strong current that pushes you to the other slide.  From there, you turn your head right and there is another slide right there!  You go down that slide and that brings you to the lazy river with a swim up bar.  Then there is a VERY strong force that pushes you to another slide that has a SUPER strong force pushing you down it.  If you hold on, it pulls you backwards.  And once you go down it, you have a lazy river that brings you to a cave and big pool on one slide.  The cave has another VERY strong force that pushes you through the cave and there is a water fall there.  Behind the water fall is a hot tub and if you don’t go through the cave, you can choose to go to a huge pool and go under a bridge and you get to a rock.  This is where you go to the water elevator.  And then you can go up the water elevator and do it all again!
This wasn’t all….there were 2 other water slides.  If you go up the water elevator, you get to one.  And there is another one way up the top but I kept getting stuck on that one because I was sitting up.  I layed down to go faster but then I started shouting in the water slide, ‘too fast, too fast!’.  That one also brings you to the water elevator.

Saturday: Flying Solo

Last Saturday, I flew on a plane by myself.  I flew from Seattle to Sacramento and then to Maui.  It was awesome!  I got a free DigePlayer and free food.  I think it was the best plane ride ever.  They gave us a piece of paper that had a food menu and trivia and Sudoku.  I asked someone next to me for a pen.  Her name was Alice.  It had this cool design in the middle and when you pressed the top button, it makes a blue light come through it and it shines through the pen and you make the pen write by turning the tip of it.  I was very very nervous but when I got on the plane but when I got on the plane I wasn’t nervous at all.

Once we arrived at the hotel, we played in the pool for a long time and then we went to the beach for a little while.  We saw the sunset on the beach.  I boogie boarded on the beach.  We saw a sand sculpture that looked like a salmon.  It was pretty cool!
